The forward was back in work after hurting his groin while with Argentina

Lionel Messi returned to training with Barcelona on Wednesday. After leaving the Argentina camp early with a groin problem, he's had a few days of rest. But Messi is now back in as the Catalans prepare for Saturday's derby against Espanyol at Camp Nou in La Liga.

Luis Suarez also took part in the first half of the session, while Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen trained alone.

Wednesday's session also so Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Nelson Semedo, Ivan Rakitic, Jean Clair Todibo, Carles Aleñá, Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen return from international duty.

Ernesto Valverde also called up Barça B players Morer, Chumi, Oriol Busquets, Collado and Riqui Puig, as well as the U19's Pol Tristán.

Still missing are the Brazilian duo of Coutinho and Arthur, as well as Chile's Arturo Vidal and Colombia's Jeison Murillo.
