Messi, Rakitic & Umtiti fit for Depor; Aleix Vidal left out again
Luis Enrique has three players back to fitness, but he once again 'punished' his only available right-back
Luis Enrique has recovered three important players for Saturday’s La Liga game against Deportivo La Coruna.
Lionel Messi, Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic all received the all-clear from the club’s medical department and will be available for the match, as the Barca coach himself had suggested on Friday in a press conference.
Meanwhile, three players miss out due to injuries. Sergi Roberto, Jordi Alba and Jasper Cillessen continue working on their respective recoveries, with it hoped that Roberto and Alba will be back for Manchester City.
The only play discarded for technical reasons is right-back Aleix Vidal. The defender has been left out of the squad for the seventh game running, although this time is more surprising that others, given there’s no natural right-back in the squad.
The decision to leave Vidal out if further evidence that Luis Enrique doesn’t count on him, despite the fact he claimed he was satisfied with all his players’ performance on Friday.
