The club captains were present as Joan Laporta took office on Wednesday
Joan Laporta was sworn in as the new Barcelona president on Wednesday in an event attended by a number of people associated with the club.
Laporta was elected last Sunday but first had to secure a €125 million bank guarantee before being able to take over officially this week.
Lionel Messi was among those in attendance at Camp Nou on Wednesday having voted in the election last Sunday for the first time ever.
Also present were the club's other captains from the men's first team -- Gerard Piqué, Sergi Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba -- and the women's team: Vicky Losada, Patri Guijarro, Marta Torrejón, Alexia Putellas and Sandra Paños.
Also at Camp Nou were Pierre Oriola (basektball), Raúl Entrerríos (handball) and Aitor Egurrola (hockey).
