After the friendly match that Argentina played against Australia, a 2-0 win in China on Thursday, in which Lionel Messi was the outstanding player of the match, his country's television broadcasted a preview of an exclusive interview with the 'forward.

After Messi confirmed that he will be playing for Inter Miami next, he is currently in with the Albiceleste, where he remains at his best on the pitch. It only took him one minute to open the scoring against Australia with a trademark goal. In fact, it was the fastest goal of his brilliant career.

In the preview of the exclusive interview, 'The Key to Eternity', which he gave for his country's television, he talks about the World Cup in Qatar.

"Not now, but I did suffer a lot and I had a very hard time, but I always had the desire to achieve something with the national team and I had it in my head that I was going to achieve it and that if not, at least I had to try," he begins.

"If we weren't world champions, I would not be with the national team now"

He confessed: "After winning everything at club and individual level, if I hadn't done it with the national team I would have missed something. I enjoyed the whole World Cup so much, as I had never done before. I knew it could be my last World Cup and if we didn't win the World Cup, I wouldn't be in the national team anymore.

"Today, being world champion, I can't leave the national team and not enjoy all this. At the same time, I had enormous confidence and peace of mind in the group we had."

"We are happy with the decision"

On his current situation, with the decision to head to Miami taken, Messi assures that "I'm fine, although at the beginning the idea was different. We are happy with the decision we made, ready and looking forward to the new challenge. I think it was an important step but at the same time we were aware of what it meant.

"I think that whatever happens along the way you always have to try and hopefully this is the message for the new generations, who follow me so much, care for me and defended me.

"I want to be remembered as a normal, good person, beyond the sporting side of things, and especially the people who knew me, like my teammates, to remember me as a good person."
