Messi closing in on most La Liga wins in competition's history
The Argentine's moved ahead of Raul and into the top three
Leo Messi keeps making history and is now close to becoming the player to have won the most games in Spain's top flight.
The Argentine overtook Raul Gonzalez on Sunday to move into the top three thanks to Barcelona's 2-0 win at Girona and he now has Iker Casillas and Andoni Zubizarreta in his sights.
Iker Casillas, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper, won 334 of his 510 games, one more than former Barça keeper Zubizarreta managed in in 622 appearances.
Messi, with 328 wins from just 437 games, is now just six short of Casillas.
Ex-Madrid sriker Raul has been left in fourth with 327 wins from 550 games, while Xavi Hernández completes the top five with 322 wins from 505 games.
