Memphis Depay: Signing for Barca is a big step forward for me
The former Lyon forward has penned a two year deal with the Catalan giants
Memphis Depay, Barca’s new signing, celebrated the deal with the Netherlands’ 3-0 win over North Macedonia on Monday.
The striker scored one and set up two in a good performance to help his team qualify for the Euro 2020 knock-out rounds with a 100 per cent record.
“In my journey there have always been ups and downs, good moments and bad ones, and all that helps you to keep learning. That’s why I think arriving at Barca is a big step forwards in my career,” he told Dutch TV.
“It was inevitable that all these days the topic was in the air. That’s why I could not say I was not thinking about it in these days, but now it’s all been made clear.”
On his contract length of just two years, Depay said: “That’s what I’ve agreed with the club, simply put.”
