Meeting between Deco & Vitor Roque in Brazil to discuss January arrival

Barça's Director of Football will meet with the young striker in Brazil on Monday

Barcelona are working on all fronts to ensure that Vitor Roque's arrival at the club in the January transfer window is a success.

The club is aware of all the details concerning his recovery from his ankle problems and in the coming days it will be Barça's Director of Football, Deco, who will come into play to work out the final details of the Brazilian striker's arrival.

In the final stretch of Vitor Roque's recovery, Deco wants to know first hand the state of the player and how he sees his arrival in the Barcelona squad. And for this, nothing better than the first face-to-face meeting between the player and the Azulgrana executive.

Taking advantage of the fact that Deco is enjoying a few days in Brazil, everything is ready so that next Monday the two can meet and exchange views on the immediate future.

Deco takes charge

So far, Deco has been particularly cautious about the signing of Vitor Roque. While directors and even Xavi himself have stated that they are counting on Vitor Roque for the month of January, the Director of Football has limited himself to pointing out that "we want the player to arrive as soon as possible."

Barça still have to adjust some sporting operations to enable the necessary fair play to reinforce the squad when the window opens.

The most important thing at the moment is that Vitor Roque will be able to make his comeback in just four weeks, as his agent André Cury assured. The Athletico Paranaense striker could still play some minutes at the end of the Brasileirao season. The young Brazilian international will have the opportunity to tell Deco that he feels fully prepared to make the leap to Europe and join Xavi's Barça as soon as possible.

January doubts

Barça still have a number of issues to resolve before tackling the January transfer window. Firstly, in response to Xavi's express request, the club will have to generate fair play to make room for Vitor Roque.

In addition, Barça have yet to regularise Gavi's registration for all intents and purposes. Nor can it be forgotten that the coach has been a victim on more than one occasion of the shortage of players in a short squad.
