Meeting between Koeman and Laporta ends without a definitive decision
The president and the coach met for around half an hour on Tuesday night
Ronald Koeman will continue. At least for now. It seemed on Tuesday that FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta was going to tell the coach whether he was wanted or not for next season, but he did not. They spoke for about half an hour to analyse the season and they will meet again in a few days time.
Laporta earned some time to analyse the future at Barca, and who will be the coach next season. Before speaking to Koeman and his agent Rob Jansen, the chief met his right-hand man Rafa Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany, to hear their recommendations.
Around 8.30pm CET Koeman arrived for the meeting and he left shortly after nine. The issue is one Barcelona will think about but ultimately want to resolve quickly.
The president must decide if Ronald Koeman is the man to leave the club, and if not, who is. If Koeman goes or stays, he will still get the eight million euros he is owed for the second year of his contract.
