Meeting between FC Barcelona and Pini Zahavi, agent of Yannick Carrasco and Benjamin Pavard
The agent is said to be in Barcelona to explore potential moves for his clients
Pini Zahavi is in Barcelona to explore the market situation with Barça. According to 'Jijantes', the meeting is said to have taken place in a Barcelona hotel and could be used to explore the possibility of signing Yannick Carrasco and Benjamin Pavard for next season.
Zahavi, who also represents FC Barcelona players, has a very good relationship with the Blaugrana club and aspires to complete one of these two operations although it is not going to be easy.
Barça's sporting department have been busy this month meeting with different agents of current as well as potential future players, planning for the next season.
The club are assessing the market and player valuations to finalize plans for the summer. Zahavi has been negotiating for Carrasco and Pavard.
The Blaugrana club has the option to buy Carrasco for around 15 million euros following the agreement reached with Atletico Madrid on the sale of Memphis. Barça had already tried to bring him in in January, but the Colchonero club closed their doors and the deal was postponed until June.
Carrasco is liked by the coaching staff and fits in the new project, but Barça would like a final price reduction to sign him. The Belgian has other offers on the table but prefers the Catalan club, and everything points towards his arrival at Camp Nou.
In the case of Pavard, things are a bit more complicated. He has one year left on his contract and has already expressed his desire to leave Bayern, but the German club is not thinking of making any reductions and is demanding close to 30 million for one of the most highly-rated right-backs on the market.
Pavard, who is also sought by Inter Milan, would be keen to play for Barça and hopes that Zahavi will mediate so that he can leave for a reasonable price. Barça are clear that the investment must be minimal and the salary reduced, so this operation is presumed to be more complicated. In addition, the Blaugrana have other options on the table to strengthen the right-back position.
