Mateu Lahoz's controversial comments on the Barca vs Porto ref decisions

Porto-Barça had several moments that put the referee Anthony Taylor in a tough spot. Situations of play that were in a gray area, difficult to assess, and that generated a lot of noise on the social networks during and after the match.

Former referee Mateu Lahoz evaluated some of these actions on Movistar. The first was a very controversial moment in which there was a tussle in the area between Koundé and the Porto striker, Taremi. In the image you can see how when the striker tries to turn around, Koundé first grabs his shirt for a few seconds and then places his leg between the striker's thighs. In other words, there is contact, but the difficulty is to interpret if there is enough to make the Porto striker fall. Lahoz assessed the action as follows: "Koundé takes a risk. If Taylor calls a penalty, there's nothing to say. It's a gray action".

The second controversial action was Cancelo's handball and the possible penalty. An action that was preceded by a possible handball by Eustaquio (some interpreted it as a shoulder). Taylor, after consulting the action, ended up invalidating Cancelo's handball because he understood that in the previous action of Eustaquio, the control included the handball. In any case, it is not clear that Cancelo's hand was inside the area.

On what happened, Lahoz said: "I am left with doubts about Cancelo's handball. I don't know if it was a previous handball by Eustaquio. In the shots I see... it's a legal part. It would be Cancelo's handball and penalty or foul".
