Mateu Alemany's formula to wrap up Christensen signing from Chelsea

The Danish defender is a target that Barcelona want to sign as soon as they can

Barcelona have taken a step closer to Andreas Christensen. In recent hours the Blaugrana have upped their offer to the Chelsea defender and given him a year longer on the deal, up to five seasons.

Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff’s recent visit to London is part of Barcelona’s strategy of trying to wrap up one of the signing Xavi wants for next season as swiftly as possible.

Barcelona, despite having his arrival agreed verbally, want it on paper too. Bayern Munich have not completely ruled out moving for him.

Barcelona also want to seal a deal quickly ahead of any uncertainty that could occur because of Russia’s links with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and potential sanctions.

Christensen was close to coming on loan to Barcelona a couple of seasons ago but the Blues vetoed it. The Dane’s dream could yet come true though and is closer than ever.
