Mascherano finally scores his first goal for Barcelona!
'El Jefecito' scored a penalty in the 7-1 win against Osasuna
It was his 319th game since joining the club from Liverpool
Seven seasons and 319 games later, Javier Mascherano scored his first official goal for Barcelona.
In the 66th minute against Osasuna, and with the score at 5-1, Denis Suarez won a penalty. It was now or never. His team-mates sought him our and he came up from the back, much to the joy of the crowd.
And he made no mistake. Firing home from 12 yards, he put Barça into a 6-1 lead and scored his first goal for the club.
It was the first time he'd scored a penalty, but the ninth goal of his career. His first game in 2003 for Argentina in a game against USA.
However, this was his first goal in seven years at club level, dating back to February 2010 when he scored for Liverpool in the UEFA Cup.
