Mascherano could rescind contract in China for Argentina return
His deal runs until the end of the year but he could leave this summer
Gabriel Milito, the coach of Estudiantes La Plata, wants to sign Javier Mascherano this summer. The former Barcelona man is keen on the idea and is currently looking into the possibility of rescinding his contract with Chinese side Hebei Fortune to return to Argentina.
Milito wants to strengthen Estudiantes by adding experience and boosting the club's image. But the obstacle is Mascherano's contract in China. When he left Barça, he committed to Hebei Fortune until the end of 2019.
Mascherano has always maintained that after playing in China his desire is to return to Argentina, hang up his boots and move into coaching. The 34-year-old has already done his badges and understands he's nearing the end of his playing caree.r
Milito wants him to be his No.2 as as well as a member of the playing squad. Mascherano has everything needed to begin his coaching career.
