Marlon and Alena in Barcelona squad for Real Sociedad game
The number of absences means Luis Enrique has to stick with the two Barça B players
Marlon is in the Barcelona squad for the game against Real Socieda at Anoeta. The number of injuries have obliged Luis Enrique to call up the young centre-back, who made his debut against Celtic in midweek, once again for the game at Anoeta.
Jeremy Mathieu is still not available for selection and Samuel Umtiti, despite returning to training, is still a short way away. Gerard Pique is available, though, after training on Saturday. He had missed Friday’s session. He will play alongside Javier Mascherano, with Marlon as their back up.
In addition to Marlon, Carles Alena has also been called up due to Arda Turan’s absence. The Turkish international has sat out the last two training sessions with a fever and will not be available to travel to San Sebastian. Andres Iniesta is till missing, too.
The full squad is: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Pique, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis, L.Suarez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcacer, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes, Alena (28) and Marlon (33).
