MARCA: Bayern want to sign Frenkie de Jong in January window
The German club are keen on signing the Dutch midfielder this month
Frenkie de Jong's form at Barcelona is a cause for concern. With the arrival of Xavi Hernández on the Barça bench, the midfielder has not managed to recover the best version of himself, and he is no longer an undisputed starter. After Pedri's return to the team, Xavi has opted for the Canarian, for Sergio Busquets and for Gavi.

Bayern make contact
This is the case with Bayern, who, as 'Marca' point out, have already contacted de Jong's representatives to find out about his situation and to let them know of their interest. In fact, the same information indicates that the Bavarians want to sign De Jong this month, and although no figures are indicated, there is talk that the Germans will go all out to try and pull off a deal.
Tension, Pedri & Sule
The truth is that in recent transfer windows there has been tension between both clubs. Bayern tempted Pedri with a dizzying offer that the Spain nternational rejected, and after having also shown interest in Dest, Barça 'responded' by showing an interest in Niklas Süle, whose contract with the Bundesliga club expires next summer.
January & Haaland
It remains to be seen how the operation progresses, given Bayern's rush and with the closing of the market approaching. Barça need salary space to try to undertake the signing of Erling Haaland next summer, and money from Bayern could help, although at a high cost such as the one that De Jong's goodbye would entail.
