Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta next for contracts

After Messi, Ter Stegen and Rakitic, the fourth player on the list is Iniesta, who has a deal until June 2018 too

Once the trident all have their deals renewed—only Lionel Messi remains—the Barcelona board will turn to three other priority cases.

Croatian Ivan Rakitic, German Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Spaniard Andres Iniesta will be the next to get new deals.

Barcelona have made contact with the goalkeeper in the past few weeks and although his deal expires in 2019, they want to get him to extend it as soon as possible.

The Croatian’s finishes within a year and a half and conversations have been going on for a few months.

After Messi, Ter Stegen and Rakitic, the fourth player on the list is Iniesta, who has a deal until June 2018 too. The captain is unsubstitutable and irreplaceable, even though the club have not yet started the process.

As Josep Maria Bartomeu said, the idea is to convert the midfielder into a one-club man, like Messi. Everyone knows that when both sides are willing, an agreement will not be hard. Director of professional sections Albert Soler said: “He will be here for as long as he wants. This is his home and we want him to finish here.”
