Barcelona plan to move for the midfielder in the final weeks of the transfer window

Manchester City do not want to sell Bernardo Silva. The English club want to keep the midfielder on their squad despite his desire to join FC Barcelona.

Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff want to finish an exciting summer but signing the Portugal star. According to The Athletic, though, it won't be easy for Barça.

The cited media reports City will ask for around €100 million for Bernardo. The club consider him one of the best players of last season -- 13 goals, seven assists -- and will demand a fee in line with that.

At 28, he has a contract at City until 2025 and his market value is around €80m.

For now, City have received no formal offer from Barça for Bernardo. When they do, however, they will not be flexible: the offer will have to be big.

At Barça, meanwhile, there is no doubt about how complicated a deal will be, but there remains confidence of reaching an agreement with the Premier League champions.
