Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva sets deadline for Barça

The player is grateful for the blaugrana's efforts, but will only wait this week

Bernardo Silva's story with Barça could soon be over. The player has patiently waited until now for the Blaugrana to strike a deal with Manchester City but he does not want this to drag on.

The Portuguese has already given a deadline for the resolution of the case: if Barça cannot sign him this week, the player will consider the matter closed and will most likely accept the English team's renewal proposal.

Barça launched a loan bid for Bernardo Silva last week with a mandatory option to buy. Manchester City rejected it. The English champions will open the door in the event of a formal transfer offer that is financially interesting, but for Barça it is impossible. It would only be possible if there were to be a big sale in the next few hours.

In fact, Manchester City have already lined up Lucas Paqueta as a potential replacement for Bernardo Silva, although it seems unlikely. Barça have no way of being able to invest more than 65 million euros for him presently.

Bernardo Silva has been waiting for the Blaugrana club for weeks and will do so until this weekend, but both he and his entourage know that it could all be over now.

Manchester City have offered him a very good renewal deal and Bernardo Silva will evaluate it from next week. The gifted Portuguese player is also grateful to City and Pep Guardiola for the confidence they continue to place in him, so he will not listen to any more offers unless Barça pull off a miracle.
