Bernardo Silva has been homesick and looking to move to the Iberian peninsula for more than a year now. Barça is the perfect destination but any deal seems impossible. The player will have to stay at Manchester City for another season.
It is a mark to his character that regardless of his desires he still maintains an extremely good relationship with the club and the fans. It is the case with Pep Guardiola as well, who adores him.
He has thought long and hard about his decision to leave the Premier League to play, if possible, as a Blaugrana. A dream rather than a reality.
At Barça, they are somewhat desperate in this matter because, after the potential departure of Dembélé, Bernardo Silva would be the ideal player to make a market coup. If the economic situation were in better shape, the signing would already be closed a couple of seasons ago.
A big money sale could change things and tip the scales in the Catalans' favour.
Jorge Mendes, the player's agent, has repeatedly put his name on the table and would be willing to try and close the transfer, although City at this time will not budge and lower their asking price.
