Manchester City are currently in Girona preparing for their friendly against Barça
The sky blues will train this Tuesday at La Vinya and on Wednesday they will travel to Barcelona.
Manchester City, FC Barcelona's opponents in Wednesday's match at the Camp Nou (9.30 pm) to raise funds for the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), have been in Girona since Sunday.
The friendly is promoted by Juan Carlos Unzué, a former Barça player diagnosed with ALS in June 2020. The Navarrese, who excelled as a goalkeeper, was assistant coach of FC Barcelona between 2014 and 2017 and the first team coach of Girona in 2019.
Unzué travelled to Girona on Monday and met City coach Pep Guardiola, as well as other members of City's coaching staff who were once at FC Barcelona, such as Txiki Begiristain and Manel Estiarte.
Pep and his staff were at Montilivi last night following the Girona-Getafe match.
Unzué also spoke with Girona's coach, Míchel, and with the president of the Catalan team, Delfí Geli, who also has a history with blaugrana.
Manchester City will train this Tuesday at La Vinya (11 am). The players who played no part against Newcastle trained yesterday.
Tomorrow they will travel to Barcelona. After the match, the English expedition will stay at the W Hotel and will leave for Manchester on Thursday.
