The Uruguay international has fallen out of favour following the signing of CR7

The transfer window closed less than a month ago but there's already speculation about what could happen in January and who could be on the move.

According to the Daily Mail, the option of signing Edinson Cavani remains on the table at Barcelona after they sounded out a deal in January.

The report says Cavani is frustrated with his secondary role at Manchester United after the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and open to a change of scenery.

However, it's a difficult deal for Barça to pull off given he has a high salary and the club are still trying to reduce their wage bill. In fact, they would need United to pay part of his salary still.

Due to several factors, Cavani has only played 47 minutes this season since Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford from Juventus. At 34, he has always been keen to test himself in the Spanish league.

Remember, though, that Barça did sign Luuk de Jong on deadline day, a No.9 that scored his first goal for the club against Levante on Sunday.
