"We believe that our travelling supporters are again being subjected to increased/excessive ticket prices"

Manchester United will increase the price of tickets for Barcelona fans that want to go to Old Trafford. The English club will now charge 102 pounds (119 euros) instead of the usual 75 pounds for Champions League games.

The motive for the pirce hike is because that's the same amount Barça are charging for United fans that are going to Camp Nou for the second leg of the Champions League game.

It's the most United fans have had to pay for a game outside of a final and has angered the Premier League club.

"FC Barcelona confirmed our tickets for this game were to be priced at £102," the club said in a statement on their website. "In this instance we believe that our travelling supporters are again being subjected to increased/excessive ticket prices from the host club.

"Similarly to Valencia in the group stages and Sevilla FC last season, we have again taken the difficult decision to charge FC Barcelona fans for the home leg at Old Trafford the same amount that FC Barcelona are charging for the away fixture (£102).

"We will use the additional revenue gained from this to subsidise our travelling support by paying the £27 price difference for each of our travelling supporters."
