Man United not allowing Edinson Cavani to leave for free

The Uruguayan striker could fill the Aguero gap and does not want to stay at Old Trafford

Edinson Cavani is one of the players that Barcelona are considering to reinforce the team in the January window. The Blagurana have an agreement with the striker but need Man United to let him go for free.

In England they say that United have no intention of opening the door to him with the season so long and terrorised by Covid-19. They will only let him go if they get a decent offer for him.

Barca want a player with experience who can add goals in what’s left of the season. The deal would be for a year and a half on a low salary, rising in the summer.

Cavani would like to leave but the Daily Mail says with all the Covid cases United have had they are reluctant to let players go. They are more likely to want to rid themselves of Anthony Martial - who would cost a lot more.

Cavani will have to press the club to let him depart. Curiously he recently thanked the fans for their love on social media.
