Olympique Lyon are interested in signing Samuel Umtiti, one of the players not in Ronald Koeman's plans, and coach Rudi Garcia has admitted as much. However the problem is that the French defender is on too high wages for his former side.
Umtiti left Lyon for Barca in 2016. At 26, injuries have spoiled his career, who went from being indispensable for Barca to being not needed. He played at a high level in his first two campaigns.
His future was spoke about by Garcia in an interview with Telefoot. He admitted speaking to sporting director Juninho about Umtiti. They are looking for a centre-back. "We have spoken about it, of course. Umtiti is a great defender, but I don't know if the operation is possible economically," He explained.
"I would like it, but I don't think it will be affordable."
