Luuk de Jong gets going on his first day of Barca training
The striker had a good chat with new coach Ronald Koeman, whom he knows well
Luuk de Jong has lived through his first day as an FC Barcelona player. The Dutch forward passed his medical in the morning and then trained in the afternoon.
De Jong arrived at the training ground for the typical tests with the club’s medical services. He was given the OK and then worked in the afternoon.
The Sevilla striker reunited with coach Ronald Koeman and they chatted before the session.
Luuk de Jong may face his parent club this weekend, if the game against Sevilla goes ahead - but currently La Liga say it is suspended.
“I’m tall and good in the air,” said De Jong. “I know I won’t play every game, but I have a good relationship with Koeman from the Dutch national team and he knows when he needs a player like me in the games.”
