Luis Suarez likes to play against Espanyol
The Uruguayan crack has good numbers against Barcelona's local rivals
If Lionel Messi is a threat for Espanyol (23 goals in 32 games), Luis Suarez's numbers are impressive too. Eight goals in nine games. They are one of his favourite victims in La Liga.
Suarez is fit to play after injury and he has never tasted defeat against Espanyol, with seven wins and two draws. In 2017-18 he scored in the 5-0 win in La Liga and another in the 2-0 cup win. In the other leg he did not score (1-0) or in the second league game (1-1).
The striker also netted this season, in the 4-0 win at the RCDE Stadium on December 8.
THREE DOUBLES
Despite his good numbers against Espanyol, Suarez didn't score in his first three league derbies against them. The 5-1 and 2-0 in 2014-15, and the 0-0 in 2015-16.
Suarez's good run started in the second league match in 2015-16, 5-0 at Camp Nou. He hit a double, just as he did in the two games in 2016-17, (4-1 and 0-3).
Of the eight goals scored by the striker, six arrived in the second halves of games and just two in the first 45s.
