The Uruguayan striker's move to Juventus appears to have fallen through but he's still expected to leave the club this month

Luis Suarez has been left out of Ronald Koeman's squad list for FC Barcelona's friendly match against Girona this afternoon.

Over the last few hours there was increased speculation Suarez would make the cut after his move to Juventus ran into problems. However, regardless of whether it's to Juve or elsewhere, Suarez doesn't appear to have a future at Barça.

Full squad list: Neto, Iñaki Peña, Arnau Tenas, Nelson Semedo, Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Griezmann, Messi, Dembélé, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Braithwaite, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Junior, Coutinho, Aleñá, Trincao, Pedri, Riqui Puig, Araujo, Cuenca and Konrad.

Koeman admitted last night in an interview with 'Fox Sports' that signing a new striker was dependent on Suarez leaving first.

This squad list has come too soon for Miralem Pjanic and Jean-Clair Todibo after their recent recoveries from COVID-19. Injured pair Marc-André Ter Stegen and Samuel Umtiti miss out whereas Rafinha is another player who is looking for a new club.

UNCERTAIN FUTURE

Luis Suárez is training alongside his teammates as normal whilst he awaits updates on his future. Juventus and Atletico Madrid are just two of the names linked with a move for Suarez but issues over his passport could scupper plans for a switch to the Serie A champions.

Suarez didn't play against Nastic and won't be involved against Girona either. Next weekend sees Barça face Elche in the Trofeo Joan Gamper. As things stand, Suarez will sit out that match too.
