Luis Suarez: Griezmann knew what he would encounter

The Uruguayan set up the winner for Messi as Barça earned three points

Luis Suarez was decisive in Barcelona's 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, setting up the winning goal for Lionel Messi in the 86th minute.

The Uruguayan striker highlighted the performance of his Argentine teammate, but also the excellence of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who had earlier made two outstanding saves.

"It's tough to choose between one or the other," he said of Messi and Ter Stegen. "Marc's performance was spectacular and to have the best player in the world (Messi) is always a plus."

On the three points, he added: "We know that games against Atletico are always difficult, both here and at Camp Nou. They created problems, but we also had chances and we knew whoever got the first goal would have a great chance of winning. Luckily it was us and it was a really important win."

Suarez also spoke about strike partner Antoine Griezmann, who was whistled and abused on his return to Atletico after leaving the club for Barça in the summer.

"Griezmann knew what he was going to encounter," Suarez said. "He had a great career at Atletico and all ex-players experience this when they return to their old clubs. But he's also happy with the win."
