Luis Suarez: We are human beings and the body needs rest

The Barcelona forward was more than happy to be taken off during the Leganes win

Luis Suarez accepted Luis Enrique's decision to take him off during the 5-1 win against Leganes on Saturday.

The Uruguayan scored one and made two in the first half before being withdrawn after the break and replaced by Paco Alcacer.

With Barça currently on a run of seven games in 23 days, Suarez is happy to happy for his manager to manage his minutes.

"We are human beings and the body needs rest," he said. "I understand the change, as would anyone who had been taken off."

Following last weekend's defeat to Alaves, Barça have responded with thumping wins against Celtic and Leganes.

Suarez feels it was important that the games came thick and fast after that shock loss, giving the Blaugrana a chance to make ammends immediately.

He said: "What we like most is to play games, to get into a good rhythm.

"After the defeat against Alaves we had to come into this game in the best way possible, because next up we've got a direct rival in Atletico Madrid."

Finally he defended team-mate Neymar, who drew criticism on Saturday for his style of play, with some suggestions surfacing that he plays in an unnecessarily provokative manner.

"Neymar has his way of playing and we shouldn't debate it so much," Suarez added. "He didn't do anything today which was out of place."
