Luis Suarez breaks silence after criticism about his knee injury
The Uruguayan explained the situation in a post on social media
Luis Suarez has broken his silence in a post on Twitter to explain the situation surrounding the operation he had on his knee.
The Barcelona strikers has been criticised for haviing the operation when he had it becausee it ruled him out of the Copa del Rey final -- which Barça lost to Valencia -- but he should be back for the Copa America with Uruguay.
The forward expressed his disappointment at the "things which are being said with bad intentions which question my professionalism."
In the message, he explained that he has played a large part of the season with a problem but that it's unrelated to the surgery he had.
"I started the season with discomfort in the cartilage but thanks to the GREAT WORK of the club's medical team I managed to ensure it without any problem," he added.
"I want to clarify, to all those people who seem to want to hurt me, that the injury that led me to surgery had absolutely nothing to do with the cartridge, but because it was a meniscus tear I suffered in the tie against Liverpool."
He finished: "I have always shown every day at this club that I am 100 percent involved, I give my all in every training session, and in every match for the badge."
