Luis Suarez blasts FIFA for their bad treatment of him

Asked again if he would ever go to a FIFA gala, he replied strongly.

In an interview with Onda Cero, Luis Suarez spoke about various topics, including his FIFA ban issued after biting Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup.

The player said: "I suffered. I am a human that suffers and has feelings. My daughter knew what her father was going through. We were going to get on the plane to Rio to play against Colombia and my family were told not to get on the plane, that dad couldn't go, imagine it.

"It was one of the most complicated days of my life. I am a father, I have feelings. The same when I came to Barcelona, they said "dad is going to training", I went with the kids and I had to train hidden in a gym because I couldn't go to the sports centre to train. The pain was very great. I kept asking myself why couldn't I play. The truth is that it hurt. Above all because I'm not like that, I'm a softie and my family know it. My children know that Papa is a human, who makes mistakes, and know that anyone can make mistakes."

"I hurt Sofia because I lied to her. She asked me [about biting Chiellini] and I denied it. I had trouble believing it, let alone saying it. I couldn't understand it. I hurt her because she knew I wasn't like that. [The press] even asked her how I was at home.

"They could have been thinking anything. And that hurts. Everyone has their way of playing, their character. If I wasn't as I am, I wouldn't have arrived where I here [Barcelona]."

FIFA

Suarez has not forgiven FIFA.

"You can punish someone, you can suspend them, but to stop them going to the sports centre to see, for example, a training session from my nephew, to have that is the most unjust thing I've lived through. I didn't understand it. Give me 10, 15, 20 games, but to treat me like they treated me hurt. I know I made a mistake but I am also aware that I am a human. They have to understand that. I did not go to the FIFA gala and I will not go."

Asked again if he would ever go to a FIFA gala, he replied: "I have no problem saying that I will never go to a FIFA gala."
