Luis Enrique's dilemma: Arda Turan or Alcacer to replace Neymar?

Barça are obliged to turn the page immediately and forget the Clasico against Real Madrid (1-1). This week they face a Champions League game against Borussia Monchengladbach at home and then travel to El Sadar to meet Osasuna in La Liga.

Luis Enrique Martínez has to pick his team up after the disappointment of conceding against Madrid in the last minute. But he must also reflect on his team's moment of form and find the solutions to recover some form of stability. 

THE DILEMMA

The Barça coach also has to decide who will replace the suspended Neymar in this week's games. Booking against Celtic and Real Madrid mean he is banned for the upcoming matches in the Champions League and La Liga. On paper, the first two options to Luis Enrique are Paco Alcacer and Arda Turan, 

Alcacer joined this passed summer to be the 'fourth forward', a player for the present and the future, capable of giving a replacing Messi, Suarez and Neymar in circumstances like this.

ALCACER SUFFERING

However, the Valencia forward is having a difficult adaption period. Luis Enrique has defended him again and again, saying that he's working hard and will take his chances. However, he's still not scored for Barça and was again off colour in the 1-1 draw with Hercules in the Copa del Rey last week.

The alternative is Arda Turan. The Turkish midfielder, who also struggled to adapt at firs, has been in irregular form recently despite starting the season in good shape. A lack of continuity was always likely to affect him, though. 

Capable of better, like in the first game against Gladbach when he made the difference, it's been surprising to see him disconnect on occasions. For example, in the Clasico on Saturday, when his foul led to Madrid's equaliser. Luis Enrique made it clear he was not impressed. 

VERY DIFFERENT

There's an added factor in that they're very different players. Paco Alcacer is, essentially, a box player. Turan is an attacking midfielder who likes to be involved in the build up and run at players. What the team needs will depend on what Luis Enrique sees. 

The Barça manager gas other options to cover Neymar, too. Even more considering the return of Andres Iniesta, who came back from an injury against Madrid in the Clasico. 

Denis Suarez and Rafinha could also be options, always depending on what sort of lineup Luis Enrique decides to go with.
