Messi and Pique are back after missing Granada game but Mathieu is missing

Carles Aleñá remains in the squad to take on Jorge Sampaoli's side at Camp Nou

Luis Enrique Martínez has revealed his squad for FC Barcelona's game against Sevilla, the Catalan club's 30th game in La Liga this season.

As expected, the good news is that Lionel Messi returns. He missed the 4-1 win against Granada due to suspension following an accumulation of yellow cards.

In contrast, Jeremy Mathieu's absence catches the attention. The French defender started at Granada but for some reason is not in the squad, allowing Carles Aleña to remain among the 18.

Gerard Pique also returns after being given a rest at Granada -- he is one yellow card away from a suspension.

Also a booking from a ban are Ivan Rakitic and Sergi Roberto, so a caution for any of the three would see them miss the Malaga game.

Arda Turan, Aleix Vidal and Rafinha are all missing with injuries.

The squad for Barça-Sevilla:

  • Ter Stegen
  • Cillessen
  • Piqué
  • I. Rakitic
  • Sergio
  • Denis Suárez
  • A. Iniesta
  • Suárez
  • Messi
  • Neymar Jr
  • Mascherano
  • Paco Alcácer
  • Jordi Alba
  • Digne
  • S. Roberto
  • André Gomes
  • Umtiti
  • Aleñá (28)
