Luis Enrique: Only winning our games can put pressure on Real Madrid

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique welcomed his team win against Osasuna at El Sadar: “It was a complete performance. In the first half we just lacked a goal, but we managed to wear them down. We were superior in all senses.”

Luis Enrique underlined that it was almost an obligation to win in order to continue dreaming of catching up Real Madrid: “It’s clear that to put pressure on Madrid only winning serves us.”

The Barça boss praised the play of Sergio Busquets, adding that Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba are “two full-backs that give us breadth and depth.”

On the situation of midfielder Andre Gomes, who has played five of the last six games as a starter, Luis Enrique answered ironically: “What do you want to say, that it’s his turn to rest?”

Luis Enrique lamented the state of the pitch in Pamplona: “At the beginning the grass was fine, but little but little it deteriorated because of the humidity. And that impeded us being so precise in some actions because [of the surface].”

He ended by congratulating Osasuna because “they had their chances and executed some good transitions.”
