Luis Enrique: "All Barça fans want Messi to continue at the club for many years"

Not even the hammering of Elche nor the precious victory over Atlético Madrid could bring peace to Luis Enrique's press conference on Wednesday.

Previewing the second leg against Elche, the Barça boss said that "all culés want [Lionel] Messi to stay at Barça for many years".

However, it was a press conference full of tension, with answers as rough as the questions.

Do you think Lionel Messi will win a fifth Ballon d'Or with Barça?

"I don't know what the future will bring."

Will Messi be at Barça next year?

"I don't feed controversy. Ask those involved have already dismissed [the question] passively and actively."

Did it hurt to see Messi's face during the gala when they showed the video of you prasing him?

"I didn't watch the gala, I didn't have the fortune."

Could you win titles without Leo next year?

"That's for the sixth series, I'm focused on this season, which is the fifth. Leo and other have already said he will continue, all culés want him to stay at Barça for many years."

Bartomeu said the dressing room is united. Is he right?

"Yes, he is right. Outside, things change in five seconds. Inside, I see things united in all aspects that can be seen united. We got out as 11, plus the subs, we are all together, we sepak about how we can damage our opposition... There is a normal dynamic for a football team."

The mediation between Bartomeu and Messi in recent weeks...

"The president has done that since I have arrived, coming down to talk to players, with me... Afterwards, if somebody wants to create something... But it is a film I have seen; it's the fifth series."

Bakero as sporting director?

"For me he is a good option, like any of my old teammtes."

Luis Suarez's form?

"Physically he has always been great. He's never been fat despite what they said and has always been really fit. In terms of football, he is very good but I do think he is still evolving, and as games pass he is improving and offering a lot."

Are there players unhappy with the psychologist because he doesn't understand enough about the football world?

"Next question."

Away from these situations, Luis Enrique was also asked about more regular subjects, such as the Elche game, Neymar and more. Here is what he had to say.

On Elche: "We'll approach it the same way we did the Atlético game, even though it the return game of a match which may already be decided. Our objective is always to win.

"I'll take the chance to play some of the Barça B players, but I can only play four in XI. We'll bring them with us and some can play."

On Neymar: "He's recovering well but it was an ugly clash. He'll be OK soon, fortunately."

On Xavi: "He won't play against Elche, he will not be ready. But in theory, it's a very small problem and we hope he'll return soon."

On the aim of the season: "To win games, points and to progress in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. We'll try to play in an attractive way as well. I don't think Real Madrid will escape [in la Liga]. It will be a fight until the end."

Barça, Real, Atléti all in same Copa section: "I think it's good, it's nice that all three of the strongest teams will play each other. It gives a chance to the others to play in important games and to reach the final."

On rotations in important games: "I can't guarantee there will be less rotations. We will see."
