The Brazilian playmaker has a 40m buy clause in his loan deal but they won't use it

Barcelona keep working on ‘Operation Exit’ ahead of next season. One of the players who could bring some money in is Philippe Coutinho.

He is the most expensive signing in the history of Barcelona, at 120m plus 40m in variables, but has turned into a big headache for the club. His huge transfer cost, lack of adaption to the team and bad performances at the club have seen him forced out on loan to Aston Villa.

Barcelona put a 40m buy option in the contract but Villa will not use it. Instead they have made an offer of 14 million euros, per the Daily Mail.

Barcelona need Coutinho to leave but they will want more money than that. Negotiations are underway.
