The goalkeeper will not join up with Germany for the upcoming international break

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has not been called up by Germany coach Joachim Low for games against Russia and Holland on Nov. 15 and Nov. 19.

It's an absence which came as a surprise, but Low has explained that the Barcelona goalkeeper has a shoulder problem which he will seek tretament on during the international break.

"Marc's been playing brilliantly in Barcelona for weeks, but he's had problems with his shoulder for a while," the German boss said.

"He's spoke with Andy Köpke and they've decided the best measure is to take a break during the internationals. He needs some days off, without working hard.

"The season is long and there will be time for him to play for Germany. Now it's about recovering."

Jerome Boateng is in a similar situation and has also been left out, while Toni Kroos will only take part in the UEFA Nations League game against Holland.
