Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum waiting for Barca

The Dutch midfielder has not penned a new contract with the Reds

Sky Sports claim that Liverpool and Georginio Wijnaldum’s talks over a new contract have come to a dead-end with the midfielder interested in a Barcelona move.

Months ago Barcelona tried to sign him, with Ronald Koeman his former coach with Holland. “He’s very good but he plays for Liverpool, he could be an option in the future, I can’t say more,” said Koeman to SPORT.

Now it seems Wijnaldum is on the transfer wishlist again at Camp Nou to help improve the squad for next season.

The midfielder, 30, has missed just one game this season, the last Champions League match which didn’t matter as his team had locked up first place.

Jurgen Klopp is a big fan. “It would please me if he stays here, I’m happy with Gini, as you can see when you look at the majority of the line ups!”

Liverpool have put an offer on the table but it does not seem to have convinced the Dutchman.

Inter Milan are another side who have been linked to Wijnaldum. Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking at Brighton’s Yves Bissouma, as a potential replacement, per ESPN. The 24 year old Mali midfielder is also like by Klopp.
