Messi has scored on every day of the week for Barça

Naturally, the majority of his goals come at the weekend

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi will play his 606th game for the club on Sunday against Villarreal. It's a day of the week on which he has scored 149 goals. At the Estadio de la Cermámica, he can take that total to 150 and win his 300th La Liga game.  

Sunday, from a scoring point of view, is Messi's second best day of the week. The Barça No. 10 has only scored more goals on a Saturday (189). 

Messi's first goal on a Sunday was his first for the Catalan club. It came on May 1, 2005, against Albacete in a 2-0 win at Camp Nou -- the assist came from Ronaldinho. 

Since the, la Pulga has scored 148 more times on a Sunday, with his four-goal hauls against Valencia on Feb. 19, 2012, and Osasuna on Jan. 27, 2013, standing out. 

Goal 100 on a Sunday came against Real Madrid on March 23, 2014, in a 3-4 win. It was part of a hat-trick he scored at the Santiago Bernabeu on the day.  

Messi's most recent Sunday goals came against Las Palmas (3-0) on the day Barça played behind closed doors. He scored twice.
