On Wednesday Leo Messi will face English opposition once again. This time he'll be heading to Manchester United's famous Old Trafford stadium to face a team he's beaten twice in previous European finals. The first victory came in the 2008/09 season under Pep Guardiola and the second was in 2010/11, also with Pep, on English soil at Wembley Stadium.
Messi has played in 13 Champions League tournaments and during those has faced Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham a combined 30 times. He's scored 22 goals against them and the only time he failed to get on the scoresheet was in the second leg of a semi-final.
Arsenal are his favourite victim and Messi has scored 9 against them. City (6), Chelsea (3), United (2) and Tottenham (2) are the others. The only English side Messi has failed to score against - in two appearances - is Liverpool.
Messi has played 835 minutes against Chelsea, 537 against Arsenal and 540 against City.
