Hitting a new four-goal haul, he passed 300 goals at Camp Nou, with a total of 519 for Barcelona in 591 appearances. 12 of those have come against Eibar in six games, and 12 in the current season too, nine in La Liga. He has beaten 134 keepers, with Marko Dmitrovic the latest.
La Pulga has no limits. He has hit four goals five times in his career, once in the Champions League (vs Arsenal), and four times in La Liga - Valencia, Espanyol, Osasuna and Eibar. He also hit five against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on March 7, 2012.
Next on Messi's demolition list is Puyol's place in the all-time record of games played. Messi has featured in 591, while the former captain played 593. If he plays against Girona and then Sporting, he will get to 594 against Las Palmas at Camp Nou on October 1. And ahead of him? Only Xavi Hernandez, who played 767 times.
