The Argentine hit a hat-trick against Leganes and has 29 goals now

Another day at the office for Lionel Messi, who scored a hat-trick aginst Leganes on Saturday. The three goals gave Barca the three points which earned them a joint-record of 38 games unbeaten with Real Sociedad (1980). Messi also moved closer to winning the Pichichi.

Messi scored his 27th, 28th and 29th goals for Barcelona, leaving behind Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo on 22 goals, with 7 games to go (8 for Madrid and Ronaldo). 

It will be his second consecutive Pichichi award, after winning it with 37 goals last season. He also won it in 2009/10 (34 goals), 2011/12 (50) and 2012-13 (45).

Messi is also fighting with Mo Salah in the Golden Shoe. His 29 take him level with the Egyptian's 29, while Lewandowski and Ciro Immobile stay on 26.
