Lionel Messi spoke to Barca TV after signing his contract renewal with Barcelona until 2021. The Blaugrana star is very happy with the deal and said his objective is to keep playing for the club until he retires. However previously he has said he would like to play in Argentine football.
"I am very happy. For a long time we've been waiting to do the signature and today it was done. I'm pleased to still be connected to the club. As I always said, this is my home. I'm happy to continue here," said Messi.
He also expressed his desire to be a one-club man, saying "to spend my life here, at my home... I always wanted to end my career here. My dream was to end my career with Barcelona and we are on track."
On the challenges ahead, he said: "The intention is to keep being able to win things and adding to the trophy cases of the club and the staff. We want to keep making history at the club. We have had the luck to win many things and I hope many more come."
