Lionel Messi is no longer blonde... but is still gold

The change lasted five months. On Sunday, in the last league game of 2016, the blonde was gone

They are idols that many people look up to and pay attention to every detail about them. How they look, how their hair is, the watch they wear, even how they walk. They are footballers and anything that affects their physical presence is noted by and commented on by the public. And when that player is Lionel Messi…

At the end of July, Antonella Roccuzzo, Messi’s partner, posted a surprising photo of him on social media in which he had dyed his hair platinum blonde. The player decided to change his look after coming from a spell which had not been positive for him, both on and off the pitch.

The change lasted five months. On Sunday, in the last league game of 2016, Leo arrived at Camp Nou with Luis Suarez—they are inseparable—and he was no longer blonde, but his hair was black. However he has kept his beard.

In the 4-1 win over Espanyol, Messi dazzled, setting up two goals and notching the fourth himself after great interplay with Suarez. No longer blonde, but still gold.
