Lionel Messi: Destination Newell's Old Boys?

Many people in Argentina believe the Barça star will make his way back to his first club

Barcelona star Lionel Messi could end his career with Newell’s Old Boys. There are many people who feel that will be the case, despite the fact there is nothing concrete.

One person who believes it to be true is Roberto Sensini. The former Argentine player is the current manager of Newell’s and commented on Messi’s potential return to the club where he began his football career.

Sensini’s words, which also suggest Marcelo Bielsa will also return, have excited Newell’s fans.

“Marcelo will come back on his own. We won’t have to go looking for him. When he decides to be manager [here], he will be. I think that Messi will come back, too. He’s in his peak at the moment, but I have confidence he will put red and black on again one day,” Sensini said to Super Deportivo.

He’s not the only one to talk about the subject. It has also been breached by Maxi Rodriguez.

“I hope that some day we have the possibility [to bring Messi back],” commented Maxi, the former Atletico player who is now at Newell’s.

“In the case it does happen, surely it will be after the World Cup in Russia [2018]. I don’t think it will cross his mind before then.”
