The Barca No 10 brought his wife and two of his three kids to Italy
Lionel Messi spoke after receiving FIFA’s The Best award from Gianni Infantino. He beat Van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo to the award.
“Thanks a lot, good evening,” started Messi after being handed the award. “Thanks to everyone who decided this award would go to me.
“The truth is, that I always say, is that despite how nice these awards are for me, the individual prizes are a secondary goal. First comes the team.
“It’s true that this is a special night because I have the luck to be with my wife and two of my three sons. I say that because it’s the first time they are here. Thiago was at a gala before but he was very little and doesn’t remember it. Today to see it and enjoy that with them is something unique.”
