Lionel Messi breaks ANOTHER goal scoring record against Huesca

The Barça star has now scored 20 goals or more in the last 13 La Liga seasons

Lionel Messi doesn't tire of breaking records. On Monday, he matched Xavi's appearance record for Barcelona as he played for the Catalan club for the 767th time.

And then he broke another record, scoring twice in the 4-1 against Huesca to take his tally in La Liga this season to 21 goals. He's the first player to score 20 or more goals in a campaign in 13 consecutive seasons in Europe's top five leagues.

The first time he achieved the feat was in 2008-09, when he scored 23 in total. Excluding this season, which has still not finished, he has never gone below that number.

His next 'worst' season on the run was last season, a campaign marked by the coronavirus crisis, when he scored 25 in total.
