Al Sadd beat Al Jaish 2-1 to win the Qatar Cup, with Xavi adding the trophy to his considerable haul

He has 29 titles in his career now, including the international ones he lifted with Spain

Xavi Hernandez's legend keeps growing. A year and a half after leaving Barcelona where he won 25 titles (8 Ligas, 3 Copas del Rey, 6 Supercopa de España, 4 Champions Leagues, 2 Supercopa de Europa and 2 Club World Cups), the former Blaugrana captain has won his first title with Al Sadd in Qatar. They beat Al Jaish 2-1 in the Qatar Cup final. That brings him to a career total of 29, including the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.

It could yet reach 30 this season with the Emir Cup still in play. On May 5 Al Sadd face Karaitiyat in the quarter finals.

Xavi, who is still the most capped player in Barcelona history, with 767 official games, had a great season with Al Sadd who came within a point of the title, which was won by Lekhwiya. He also hit nine goals and provided 12 assists.
