Lethal Luis Suarez sinks Espanyol with his one chance
The Urugayan didn't have a great game but finished off the Pericos
Quique Setien backed the Messi, Suarez, Griezmann trident again against Espanyol. Don't break what works. However Espanyol made things much harder than Villarreal did at the weekend.
Rufete's team were organised, with five at the back, so it was hard for the strikers to find space, Suarez especially. He did have the best opening of the first half, after half an hour, when Griezmann set him up. However Suarez needed to shoot with his left foot and it was a forced effort. He was not comfortable.
However after Ansu Fati and Pol Lozano's red cards, one after the other at the start of the second half, the game changed. There was more space and Suarez immediately took advantage. He finished coolly after Messi's effort was blocked.
Setien later took him off for a rest. Suarez has 18 goals this season, 15 in La Liga. Not bad, considering his injury.
