Leo Messi and Neymar share warm hug ahead of Brazil vs Argentina

Lionel Messi, captain and leader of Argentina, and Neymar, Brazil's only true star, friends and team-mates at Barcelona, showed their good relationship before their countries clashed in Belo Horizonte. 

Despite the tension ahead of the game, a key one in the South American World Cup 2018 qualifying stakes, both Barcelona players showed they have an extraordinary relationship. 

They embraced each other in the tunnel, before they walked out onto the pitch - the scene of Brazil's most painful defeat, the 7-1 against Germany in World Cup 2014. The Barcelona players even arrived together, in Neymar's private jet, before linking up with their international sides. 

Messi also greeted former Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, who now plays for Juventus as well as Brazil.
